How player progression works in Refoot

In Refoot, every button is a player with a career. They earn XP, improve attributes, tire, can get injured, age and leave a permanent Hall of Fame card when they retire.

XP and levels

The maximum level is 50. In ranked play, a player who featured earns 20 XP, plus 25 per goal and 30 for a win. Vs CPU progression is reduced to 50%. Required XP follows 80 + level² × 8.

A level-up adds 1–2 points to an attribute below potential. Potential is an individual cap and also respects card rarity.

What improves on the pitch

AttributeEffect
PowerShot power.
AccuracyMore reliable aiming.
WeightResistance in collisions.
ReflexesDefensive reach, especially for keepers.

Fitness and injuries

Players used lose 6–14 fitness; resting players recover 8–16. Base injury risk is 3% and rises after age 30 and with low fitness. An injury normally lasts one or two matches.

Seasons, age and decline

A season ends every 25 ranked matches and starters age one year. Common/rare players decline from 31, epic from 32, legendary from 34 and icons from 35. Veterans lose power/reflexes but may gain accuracy through experience.
